Sandra Sabatini
Sandra Sabatini, is one of the foremost teachers of the Scaravelli approach to Yoga. Sandra studied with the legendary Vanda Scaravelli, author of Awakening The Spine, for some 17 years and has been teaching internationally for some 20 years. It is Vanda Scaravelli's gift of yoga with its emphasis on breath, gravity and the spine that is at the heart of Sandra's unique teaching style. Through its simplicity and subtlety it brings students to an inner stillness that enables a deep unwinding of the tensions that so often hold us back, both mentally and physically. Sandra, who is the author of two books, Breath: The Essence Of Yoga and Yoga Through The Seasons, has taught every autumn at Basunti since it opened in 2005. In 2010 she will return to share the Scaravelli method with students supported by her colleague Michal Havkin. A recent account of her last visit entitled, Surrounded by Beauty was published in Yoga & Health magazine. For more information about Sandra visit her website. Suzanne Jevon-Hughston
April 2010 will mark Suzanne's fourth visit to teach at Basunti. She has been practising Yoga and meditation for some 20 years, stemming from her time living and working in the Far East, mainly in Thailand, India,
Nepal and Indonesia. In India she studied in several ashrams and Hindu temples, where she lived with yogis and sadhus and developed her practice of yoga and meditation. She currently teaches in Hereforshire, UK, where she lives with her family and has an active following. Her classes, based on a Hatha approach, are fun and accessible with a focus on breathing and achieving stillness of mind and body through the asanas.
